Otoplasty corrects the shape and size of detached ears (ear deformities). It is one of the few cosmetic procedures that can be implemented for children aged 5 and over, as our ears have already completed 80% of their development by the age of 4.

The procedure usually is done on both ears. In the case of asymmetry, it can be done contralaterally (one ear).

In 90% of cases, the ears protrude outward and what we achieve with the procedure is to place the ears in the correct position. In 10% of cases, it is also necessary to remove part of the concha (part of the cartilage) of the ear.

Access is made from the back surface of the ear so that the postoperative scar is not visible in the future. At the end of the procedure, we place an elastic bandage, which is kept for 3 days.

For 2 weeks, patients wear an elastic band while sleeping.
